THE ART OF STRATEGY: A GAME THEORIST'S GUIDE TO SUCCESS IN BUSINESS AND LIFE follows a successful best-selling book on game theory, applying it to everyday life and business situations to move beyond the gamer's realm. Chapters use real-life examples and case studies to pair game theory with business interactions and personal goals, covering key principles of game theory, how to change and play the game to maximum advantage, and how to employ strategy in decision-making processes. Business libraries and general-interest holdings will find it a winner.

Nalebuff is a genius that not only studies and teaches strategy, but applied it himself to build an international beverage company (Honest Tea) recently acquired by Coca-Cola. Any chance to learn from him is well worth it, including this outstanding book with myriad applications to anyone's work and day-to-day life.

This book talks about the application of the game theory to the reallity, with important considerations related to the limits of this approach.
Because the reallity is uncertain, it is important to randomize this strategy, but we make it only if we know surely the model.
The question of the backward reasonning is related to the simulation of the movements and their reactions in a scenario. The simplest model is given by the sport.
The competition is more efficient if it admits a collective interest. For example the smoke industries talk often about the risks of cancer.
If the agency activities are considered by step, the results can be better. This fact often don't be true, because the game theory can work weakly.

It teaches you to optimize your outcome from a mathematical logic. Progressive knowledge is well written with simple life examples and experiences, which is later supported by scientific reason. It requires basic math and interest.
You don't have to be in a Businsss Major to appreciate this book; this book is designed to be read and understood easily.

This is a book to exercise your mind into logic thinking.

Meet and Greet / Stop by small businesses with card in hand just introducing yourself.

Small business owners work strong on networking, a lot of times if they like offering up your name to someone in conversation can have dual benefit for the and they know it.

Good Luck!

Some marketing tips:

1. Direct mail. Prepare a well-crafted brochure and send it to your target markets in Sunnyvale. Find a vendor in your area renting mailing lists of business establishments or take the time and go over the yellow pages and get their contact information. You can read more of how to use direct marketing strategies here http://www.powerhomebiz.com/marketing/direct.htm

2. Publicity. Publicity can oftentimes be more effective than advertising. Not only is it cost-effective (oftentimes you are paying for nothing), but also people are apt to remember an article about your business rather than advertising. People find a write-up or special feature about a business more credible and objective than a paid advertising. Publicity also reaches a wider audience: if you are lucky, the national media might even pick up your story. Contact an editor of your local newspaper and pitch your story. Read the article "Leverage the Power of Publicity for Your Small Business"
http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol27/leverage.htm

3. Press releases. Send out press releases through your local newspapers about your business. Whether it is about your story or about a sale you are offering, press releases can be very good exposure for you. You can read more about how to harness press releases for your business here http://www.powerhomebiz.com/marketing/public%20relations.htm

4. Use the Internet. The Web can be your online brochure. You can use it to refer your potential clients for more information about your business; and it could also generate clients for you directly. Some of your potential clients may be looking to the Web for a floral designer, and you need to have a strong presence there as well.

5. Network. Join and be active in your local business organizations, chamber of commerce, etc. Increase your visibility in the community. You can find more information on networking here http://www.powerhomebiz.com/marketing/networking.htm

6. Word of mouth. This is the best form of advertising for your business - afterall, it is free. Read "Secrets of Word Of Mouth Marketing" http://www.powerhomebiz.com/vol154/wordofmouth.htm

Try the internet. Pay for search engines to include you in listings, preferablly Google.
Make your business information available in phone books/newspapers (Dex, Yellow Pages, LA Times, ect.).
Make business cards and post them at places where there are bulliten boards for businesses. (Walmart, restaurants, ect.)
And if you're desperate, make magnets and put them on the pumps at gas stations. It works well. ;)

"What do I do when I reach the top of the mountain?" the young man asked the master.
"Keep on climbing," replied the master.

Dixit and Nalebuff got to the top of the mountain with the first edition of this book in 1991. They have continued to climb the last 17 years.

I know of no higher praise.

I liked this one much better, and it had better audio (still could have been less muddy) than Open Cam.

The plot line was just a tiny bit thin, I could see what was coming. But it had great promise, a great detective team, and the ending gives me hope of sequels...

I would encourage every taxpayer in America to read this book. It examines what the new tax law means, not just what it says. Stewart Welch III and Harold Apolinsky have addressed the questions all of us are asking, and a few we may not have thought of yet. Who would have ever thought a book on tax law would be so enjoyable to read and easy to understand? I am grateful for these two experts' wonderful resource and guide. Read it!

Let's face it. Keeping track of changing tax laws and estate laws isn't much fun. The new laws mean we must re-evaluate our financial situations. Where do you start? I'd recommend this book. Here's why:
Harold Apolinsky is the single person most responsible for getting the estate tax repealed. Stewart Welch III handles the financial porfolios of the nation's wealthiest individuals. These two are a financial dynamic duo!

You'll be getting the best information that's out there in a remarkably easy-to-read, logical, organized fashion. You don't have the read every page. Just skip to the topic you're interested in and Viola! begin digesting the contents. You'll appreciate the bullet points and short paragraphs. Though the subject is dry, the book is anything but.
In my opinion, the best aspect of this book is that it focuses on the important stuff. Stewart and Harold tell parables or stories about what happens when one fails to plan. Then they take the time to walk you through all the questions you should ask yourself. I appreciated the way topics were discussed, followed by case examples to illustrate the point.
The book is sold as a paperback--so you can easily read snippets of it while you take the commuter train to work, or while waiting at Johnny's baseball practice. The bottom line is that professional advice from these men would ordinarily cost hundreds of dollars. By reading this book, you can pick their brains for less than 20 bucks.
This book would make a great gift to baby-boomers and young people alike.

If you are not a do-it-yourselfer, Welch and Apolinsky supply a list of professional advisors. (Name, firm, phone number and E-mail).
While the book is not a thriller, you'll be thrilled you read the wisdom contained in its pages.

"2 Minutes Later" is a surprisingly thrilling thriller set in the City of Brotherly Love. Private detective Michael (Michael Molina) goes in search of his twin brother Kyle with the help of the lesbian detective Abigail (Jessica Graham). He's closeted; she's alcoholic. His twin is a Robert Mapplethorpe-like photographer with a penchant for the kinky. The first 20 minutes are a slog, with heavy-handed voice-overs. One almost EXPECTS a clunker--but miraculously, the acting improves. Abigail accuses Michael of being sensitive, he accuses her of being butch. There's some comedy thrown in.

"2 Minutes Later",despite its unsexy hunks, unerotic "erotic" photography, and bland homoeroticism that would straighten out--redeems itself with an engaging plot, excellent acting, and comedic timing. There are plenty of plot twists- was it the angry ex-model? The masterful "servant"? The local homophobes? There's even an appearance by drag queen/styling diva Brini Maxwell as gallery owner Emily Monroe. The story kept me guessing. It does have a sense of camp. No spoilers here--there is a twist ending in the truest sense of the word--but who would expect the plot to be straight anyhow?

"2 Minutes Later" is an hour's worth of thrills!

There’s even an appearance by drag queen/styling diva Brini Maxwell as gallery owner Emily Monroe. The story kept me guessing. It does have a sense of camp. No spoilers here–there is a twist ending in the truest sense of the word–but who would expect the plot to be straight anyhow?

“2 Minutes Later” is an hour’s worth of thrills!
